Youth Ministry for the Ethnic Churches
The youths are the hope of the ethnic diaspora churches, but in these churches, there are only a few leaders and friends for youths with whom they can enjoy fellowship.
This is the one of the reasons why they don’t come to the church and stay. Please pray for these youths who are to be equipped by the spiritual leaders and to become the disciples who live as the light of Jesus Christ.
One-day pastor retreat for immigrant diaspora communities
April 9 Sat. Somang prayer garden
24 church leader couples shared their church planting experiences and how God helped them when they had difficulty. They were recharged spiritually with God’s wisdom and comfort.
We would like to thank church members for serving this retreat financially or by cooking. Please pray for the church leaders and their families so that they can serve their own churches with the Holy Spirit and sincere joy in spite of many obstacles.
Mosaic Cultural Festival
May 14 Sat. Vaughan Community Church
About five hundred people of different religious groups (Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism), from 17 to 20 nations (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Congo, Jamaica, Caribbean countries, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam… etc.), including those who have come to Canada as refugees from Syria one week ago, attended the Mosaic Cultural Festival. They had a great time by sharing their own traditional food, historical goods and culture such as dance, music, and marriage ceremony. Please pray that this annual cultural festival can become the path to share the love of Jesus Christ.
Arabic Church Planting
Iraqi Pastor Ehsan Jaro started to worship with Arabic people (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and so on) since May 15. Please pray for good relationship between this Arabic church and Vaughan Community Church so that they can cooperate for Sunday worship, children ministry, prayer meeting, bible study and fellowship. We hope that this is a starting point to open door to share the love of Jesus Christ to Arabian community.
French speaking Congo Church
We congratulate Pastor Emmanuel Mukendi for his promotion? to a manager position of the French speaking department at work. Please pray for him so that this will enable him to devote his time fully to church planting and mission on the weekends.
The church is inviting Pastor Jose Luis Fuentes Mendoza from Mexico City to have revival/evangelistic service for three days from June 24th on Friday. Please pray that many people can be saved in this revival meeting and the needs for this meeting will be filled soon.
Bangladesh Church
Please pray for the church that a faithful and spiritual leader can be sent. Also pray that the church members can unite and stay together to build up their church in their own language and culture.
